Darwin’s street art scene is about to leave its mark in Los Angeles! Territory artists Jason Lee and Trent Lee, along with LA-based artist Ryan Yanoe, are set to bring a splash of the Northern Territory’s unique flavour to Venice Beach. In just a few days, they’ll unveil a stunning Territory-themed mural on the trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard, an iconic hub known for its blend of local and international shops, restaurants, and galleries.

Their vibrant mural will be adorned with Larrakia designs, symbolising the rich culture and breathtaking diversity of the NT. It’s more than just a piece of art—it’s a bridge between the Territory’s spirit and LA’s creative heartbeat.
The brains behind this exciting collaboration? A fantastic team effort between the Darwin Street Art Festival and TripAdvisor, with the support of local PR powerhouse Kate Dinning and Tourism NT. And this mural is just the beginning—it’s the first step in an upcoming campaign that will see artists and content creators join forces to shine a global spotlight on the Northern Territory, reaching out to street art enthusiasts and adventurous travellers alike.

Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Marie-Clare Boothby, emphasised the importance of campaigns like this in capturing the Territory’s adventurous and diverse essence. “A healthy tourism industry is essential to rebuilding a strong economy,” she shared. “This innovative campaign leverages our unique strengths to attract a whole new wave of US travellers who may not have considered a trip to the NT before.”
David Collins, Director of the Darwin Street Art Festival, is just as thrilled. “We’re excited to partner with Tourism NT to showcase the incredible talents of our Darwin Street artists and to extend art beyond gallery walls,” he said.
Get ready, LA! The Northern Territory is bringing its vibrant culture, storytelling, and artistic flair straight to Abbot Kinney Boulevard. We look forward to sharing their bold new mural early next week.
