A few years ago, I was introduced to Medee Thai Restaurant through a friend, and it immediately became a family favourite. Medee’s authentic mouthwatering Thai flavours have a perfect blend of traditional and modern, and with each visit, I would work my way through their menu, enjoying the culinary experience. With its second restaurant at Casuarina Square, Medee brings their trademark dishes and hospitality to Darwin’s northern suburbs.

If you’re looking for a dish that will blow your mind, then I recommend Medee’s signature Deep Fried Barramundi dish – local NT barra, fried crispy with a refreshing green apple salad, chilli, and peanuts – you really can’t beat it. Or, alternatively, try their Japanese Scallop, pan-fried and served with fish roe, coconut meat, coriander, and a zesty red chilli nahm jim that’s a party in your mouth. With no trip of mine ever complete without their traditional Pad Thai, rich and aromatic Green Curry, both available with chicken or prawns. And if you can fit it in – have a go at the Red Duck Curry – believe me, you will embrace the food coma afterwards.

A Homegrown Favourite in the Making

Medee Restaurant is the brainchild of Tee and June, a husband-and-wife duo who have taken Darwinites on a culinary tour of authentic Thai food. Tee, a chef with over 21 years of experience, trained in Sydney before opening Medee’s first outlet in Fannie Bay in 2021. With demand soon peaking, they took a bold step and launched a larger outlet at Casuarina Square’s The Quarter, offering a beautiful space perfect for everything from casual lunches to grand family dinner celebrations, birthday parties, and even weddings.
