Darwinβs very own Northern Distillery has once again put the Top End on the national stage, clinching the prestigious Best Australian Contemporary Gin trophy at the Melbourne Royal Australian Distilled Spirit Awards. Their award-winning Troppo Yuzu Gin has been recognised for its exceptional tropical flavours, a true reflection of the Territoryβs vibrant and diverse produce.
Founded by Kellie and David Robinson, Northern Distillery is a unique micro distillery located at the Darwin Waterfront; a collaboration with their restaurant Snapper Rocks Bar & Kitchen. Inspired by a desire to craft spirits that embody the essence of the Territory, Northern Distillery is no stranger to accolades. What started as a passion project to fill the gap in the local beverage scene has now become a celebrated name, producing small-batch spirits that pack a flavour punch.
David, an internationally awarded bartender, restaurateur, and entrepreneur, led the charge in creating this locally infused gin. With native botanicals and tropical fruits like Berry Springs mangos and Mountain Yuzu, their gin is a celebration of the Territory’s flavours, right down to the lemongrass and kaffir lime sourced from Kellieβs mum.
