Met Mel, born in Darwin and raised in Alice Springs before returning to the Top End when she was 11, the Northern Territory has always been home. She currently resides with her husband Greg and two of their three sons. Together, they navigate the joys and challenges of parenting.
An advocate for community engagement and business collaborations, Mel is excited to introduce the new Territory Savvy lifestyle magazine and digital platform. This new venture marks a significant step forward from her previous platform, Savvy Social. While long-time followers might recall 2009, when Mel and her family took over Humidity Gifts on Cavenagh Street, beginning an exciting journey in local business.
With a love for photography and social media, Mel has grown an online community of nearly 33,000 followers across Territory Savvy’s Facebook and Instagram pages by offering inspiring and engaging content tailored to the vibrant life and style of the Northern Territory. Quirky Fact: Mel hates the spotlight and having her photo taken.

As mum of two, Brooke is now raising her kids in the laidback Darwin lifestyle she loves.

Alley is an award-winning, best-selling writer with a background in magazines and memoirs, based here on Larrakia Country in Darwin. She wrote her first published story as a kid in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and hasn’t stopped since.
